What is Veloopti?

Veloopti is an IT application and server monitoring platform available through SaaS. It’s built for the enterprise and easy enough to be used by anyone. It is designed for both small and large environments being able to cope with potentially an unlimited number of devices under management.

How do I use Veloopti?

Once you have created your account the next thing you do is create an organisation. The organisation is where all your servers and monitoring configurations are held. Once you have an organisation you can do the following:

1. Install the Veloopti agent to your servers.
2. Create an application and add some servers to it.
3. Build application monitoring and deploy it to the servers.
4. Use the dashboards to see how your applications and servers are performing while automatically notifying yourself if a threshold is being breached.
5. Invite users to Veloopti to let them see how your applications and servers are performing.
6. Add users to roles to let them do things.
7. Detect and be notified of event storms before they impact your business.

What Internet browsers are supported?

The following browsers are supported:

Where is the data stored?

The data is stored securely on our AWS servers in Australia. As we expand we are looking at setting up Veloopti instances closer to you.

How secure is the agent/server communication?

Communication to the Veloopti cloud is only ever initiated by the agent. The communication is secured using a SSL certificate that has been signed by our Veloopt Certificate Authority. Once the secure communication is established all data in transit between the agent and the Veloopti cloud is encrypted.

What Operating Systems does the agent support?

Currently the agent supports the following Operating Systems:

Linux

1. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6+
2. CentOS 6+
3. Debian
4. Raspberry Pi (Debian )

Windows (x86 and x64)

1. Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016
2. Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10

Are there any software prerequisits for the agent?

The Windows agent requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017. This comes pre-bundled with the installer and in most cases it’s already installed. The Linux agent is not dependent upon any software libraries.

Does the computer need to be rebooted when the agent is installed or updated?

Your computer does not need to be rebooted when Veloopti is first installed. When updating the agent using the Veloopti Console the computer also does not need to be rebooted. Should you need to do a manual update the Veloopti processes will need to be stopped first or a reboot will be required.

Can I uninstall the agent manually?

Yes, you can. In Windows, use the "Add / Remove Programs" control panel and in Linux, run veloopti --uninstall

Are there any integrations with other applications?
